In the next few days, I will start writing a blog post here weekly for as long as I can. Hopefully in the end, I will have a complete story called "Merge". I already explained what I was doing in my last blog post, so I won't go any more into that, but I wanted to explain how it got started, just in case anyone was curious! :)
About a year, year and a half or so ago, Danielle invented this "game". We had just finished the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series, and she loved the concept of the TV show. She wanted to start a game we played similar to the series, yet her own thing. (( It is way more different than the TV series. I just wanted to point out our inspiration!))
Well, I joined into it, and through time, we made our own little game we always played. We even got some friends to join us in the game.
After months of playing this amazingly fun game, we gained a storyline and based it off of that.
My birthday came up, and I had a sleepover with two of my friends after a party (Juliette and Autumn). At about midnight, we had this crazy idea that we were going to write a book together and publish it. We threw around, and started so many ideas.
Somebody( I dont' remember who) mentioned writing our game as a book and we made many plans to write it. For months afterwards, we wrote and wrote and wrote. We had a storyline and everything figured out. But- it wasn't going anywhere. Slowly, we drifted off from our idea, notebooks filled with half written ideas. And we forgot about it for awhile. It didn't seem to be going anywhere.
One Year Later...
For my final project in my Write Shop class we had to write a story, a long(ish), fictional story. I fished around for ideas, and when I remembered "Merge", I debated it. I had already tried to write it with little success. But, then again, I knew more about writing stories and was encouraged by a video we watched that encourages a "story question" throughout a book.
I decided to go for it. It took me awhile to get my ideas that I wanted across and how to express what I mean with words. After a lot of work, I wrote a short story (which actually is six pages...).
I plan to slowly reveal it on my blog every week so I can make corrections and such and turn it better. Then, I will build on it!
With that being said- I am super excited to get my ideas I have been wanting out! I may not be publishing this as a book, but I hope every one enjoys it!
