Merge: Chapter 1, Part 1/3

Admiring the beautiful scenery, the small carriage window doesn't seem big enough for Asteria's wonderous nature. The Sapphire flowers spot the ground, with a deep red, and complementing blue that show off their simple, yet remarkable beauty.
While peering at them, a little glimpse of light catches my eye. Tilting my head upwards, I lay my eyes on the greatest, most beautiful, and famous castle in all of this world. Excitedly, I spin around to share the news with my sister
"Look!" I exclaim.
Annoyed and cranky from the long trip, Misty answers
"Don't tell me it's another Sapphire flower. We've seen a million of them, yet you still manage to get excited over every, single one that crosses our path."
I roll my eyes and state "They are so beautiful though! And you are no different when it comes to the Misty Lilies. Anyway, that's not what I'm pointing out. It's the castle!"
Misty looks up from the water ball she is Wave Merging in her hands. Hastily, she puts it back into her water pouch.
Delighted as a pup, she quickly, crawls over me, jabbing her sharp elbow in my side. I yelp "Ouch!" but she doesn't seem to hear, lost in her own world, while she gazes at the upcoming castle.
Without hesitation, I scoot over, as I have almost never seen this side of the serious Wave Merger. She's normally so calm, sturdy, and gentle.
Either way, the free window I can gaze out of, has an excellent view of the Sapphire flowers. Also, I can think, without the distraction of the castle. It conveys mixed feelings to me.
Defintely the top benefit, Merging in gymnasiums actually built for each Element and learning from the professionals will be the best! Not to mention, being with my true sister and friends everyday, while actually living in a castle. There is so much to be excited about!
Although, I am not exactly sure what to feel about becoming queen. It's already such a huge responsibility without the worries of the Flame Colonies' attack, and with the appropriate training for a queen throughout a lifetime. Normally, girls start at age five. I am about thirteen years behind schedule. Despite these facts, I am so fortunate to be gifted enough to Merge all of the Elements! This grows excitement in me, as I remember the gymnasiums and professionals at the castle. I calm myself down with my Father's words I repeat to myself a lot. He didn't tell it to me, but to Misty, and I overheard.
"Merging is not something to be taken lightly. Only few are gifted with the power of it. Merging is using  the earth's energy and a person's inner strength to create something more powerful, and to use the earth's resources to Merge elements is a great resposibilty."
If a single who can Merge one element is a great responsibility- what responsibility is on my shoulder? Not including bringing peace to Asteria?
Suddenly, a jerk forward snaps me out of my thoughts. I lurch forward, almost falling off my seat. The coach driver hops off the box seat, and opens the door for us. Have we really arrived? Have I really been daydreaming for that long? I ask myself while I eagerly check out the window.
Yes, we have arrived.
