Admiring the beautiful scenery, the small carriage window doesn't seem big enough for Asteria's wonderous nature. The Sapphire flowers spot the ground, with a deep red, and complementing blue that show off their simple, yet remarkable beauty.
While peering at them, a little glimpse of light catches my eye. Tilting my head upwards, I lay my eyes on the greatest, most beautiful, and famous castle in all of this world. Excitedly, I spin around to share the news with my sister
"Look!" I exclaim.
Annoyed and cranky from the long trip, Misty answers
"Don't tell me it's another Sapphire flower. We've seen a million of them, yet you still manage to get excited over every, single one that crosses our path."
I roll my eyes and state "They are so beautiful though! And you are no different when it comes to the Misty Lilies. Anyway, that's not what I'm pointing out. It's the castle!"
Misty looks up from the water ball she is Wave Merging in her hands. Hastily, she puts it back into her water pouch.
Delighted as a pup, she quickly, crawls over me, jabbing her sharp elbow in my side. I yelp "Ouch!" but she doesn't seem to hear, lost in her own world, while she gazes at the upcoming castle.
Without hesitation, I scoot over, as I have almost never seen this side of the serious Wave Merger. She's normally so calm, sturdy, and gentle.
Either way, the free window I can gaze out of, has an excellent view of the Sapphire flowers. Also, I can think, without the distraction of the castle. It conveys mixed feelings to me.
Defintely the top benefit, Merging in gymnasiums actually built for each Element and learning from the professionals will be the best! Not to mention, being with my true sister and friends everyday, while actually living in a castle. There is so much to be excited about!
Although, I am not exactly sure what to feel about becoming queen. It's already such a huge responsibility without the worries of the Flame Colonies' attack, and with the appropriate training for a queen throughout a lifetime. Normally, girls start at age five. I am about thirteen years behind schedule. Despite these facts, I am so fortunate to be gifted enough to Merge all of the Elements! This grows excitement in me, as I remember the gymnasiums and professionals at the castle. I calm myself down with my Father's words I repeat to myself a lot. He didn't tell it to me, but to Misty, and I overheard.
"Merging is not something to be taken lightly. Only few are gifted with the power of it. Merging is using the earth's energy and a person's inner strength to create something more powerful, and to use the earth's resources to Merge elements is a great resposibilty."
If a single who can Merge one element is a great responsibility- what responsibility is on my shoulder? Not including bringing peace to Asteria?
Suddenly, a jerk forward snaps me out of my thoughts. I lurch forward, almost falling off my seat. The coach driver hops off the box seat, and opens the door for us. Have we really arrived? Have I really been daydreaming for that long? I ask myself while I eagerly check out the window.
Yes, we have arrived.
Around the Fire
I started Around the Fire because I am going to be writing stories of things are signifigant to me! Hopefully I will get to write a lot of different stories on here! I named it "Around the Fire" because, generally, stories are told around a campfire, or legends, or myths, and I thought it was an interesting name!!

Merge: Introduction
Here is my first introduction of Merge! I hope to put these out every Monday, but today I am getting an early start!
The long, seemingly everlasting universe never fails to amaze people. Distance worlds of living people are a mystery, nobody knows of them, nobody knows if they exist.
But one very special world does. Far, far away from our home planet, millions of light years away. This world appears like our world. Almost all of the geology of this planet is like ours, except for one special aspect: the unusual energy level.
People who inhabit this world, have the ability to use this energy level to “Merge” the natural elements of the earth. The energy level in these elements sort of “connect” with a Merger's movements, and they are able to control the elements with their movements in hands, arms, or even legs.
Some people say it looks like a form of dancing- but it is much more than that. A man named Aster who discovered this energy and how to use it, gave the world it's name- Asteria.
After years, people grouped the Elements into four specialties. Flame is mastering the art of Merging fire, and Wave, is water, yet contridicts Flame. Rock is mastering Merging the earth, and Wind, which is air, opposes it.
Through a millennium of time, certain, gifted people have mastered this “Merging”. Although it is amazing, the people, who inherited this power from ancestors who discovered it, were limited to the use of only Merging one of the Elements. No matter how hard they tried to learn more, they could not.
Once every ten decades a very important, very unique girl is born. A girl, who has the ability to Master all four elements. The world, Asteria, decided to declare this girl the Queen, who would bring peace to the problems. Peace from the queen has always brought balance, so the people of Asteria continued to do so.
Once, after appointing a queen became consistent and usual in Asteria, a very honorable, wise Queen, solved a major problem during her time. After disturbance in peace and harmony together, she split the world into colonies, according to the gifted “Mergers”. There began the Flame Colony, Wave Colony, Rock Colony and Wind Colony.
Of each colony, she appointed a Princess to rule, and since then, through heritage, a Queen , and Princess have been appointed for each colony.
A few Queens later, the Flame Colony, with their power, decided to resist the Queen and Princesses orders, and, rebelling, created their own group that resisted any authorities. The number of this group spread within the Flame Colony, and they went on a rampage, burning down houses of other Element Mergers and of those within the Flame Colony who resisted joining their group. They want full control of Asteria and do anything they can, to get what they wanted. Thousands of innocent people died from them.
The Queen and Princesses did all they could to stop them, but in doing so, the Queen died. No one had any idea who the next Queen was going to be, and they had no one to train her when they found her. Eventually the Princesses died too, but the next ones were already chosen. They waited until there was a Queen discovered to officially appoint them.
Powerless, and without a ruler of peace, the people who resisted the Flame Colony made a secret group to protect innocent lives. They named their group The Fire Warriors to distinguish themselves from the now rotten Flame Colony.
Although now, an untrained, yet talented Queen has been discovered! People anxiously await her coronation, while others worry of the choas she may bring. Will this new Queen find peace, and bring balance to Asteria, or will she be overwhelmed and unready, bringing confusion and choas?

Merge: How it started
In the next few days, I will start writing a blog post here weekly for as long as I can. Hopefully in the end, I will have a complete story called "Merge". I already explained what I was doing in my last blog post, so I won't go any more into that, but I wanted to explain how it got started, just in case anyone was curious! :)
About a year, year and a half or so ago, Danielle invented this "game". We had just finished the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series, and she loved the concept of the TV show. She wanted to start a game we played similar to the series, yet her own thing. (( It is way more different than the TV series. I just wanted to point out our inspiration!))
Well, I joined into it, and through time, we made our own little game we always played. We even got some friends to join us in the game.
After months of playing this amazingly fun game, we gained a storyline and based it off of that.
My birthday came up, and I had a sleepover with two of my friends after a party (Juliette and Autumn). At about midnight, we had this crazy idea that we were going to write a book together and publish it. We threw around, and started so many ideas.
Somebody( I dont' remember who) mentioned writing our game as a book and we made many plans to write it. For months afterwards, we wrote and wrote and wrote. We had a storyline and everything figured out. But- it wasn't going anywhere. Slowly, we drifted off from our idea, notebooks filled with half written ideas. And we forgot about it for awhile. It didn't seem to be going anywhere.
One Year Later...
For my final project in my Write Shop class we had to write a story, a long(ish), fictional story. I fished around for ideas, and when I remembered "Merge", I debated it. I had already tried to write it with little success. But, then again, I knew more about writing stories and was encouraged by a video we watched that encourages a "story question" throughout a book.
I decided to go for it. It took me awhile to get my ideas that I wanted across and how to express what I mean with words. After a lot of work, I wrote a short story (which actually is six pages...).
I plan to slowly reveal it on my blog every week so I can make corrections and such and turn it better. Then, I will build on it!
With that being said- I am super excited to get my ideas I have been wanting out! I may not be publishing this as a book, but I hope every one enjoys it!

What I will do!
So, I know in my former post I wrote that I would be something I had in mind. For a summer project I am going to try to slowly write a story called "Merge". Hopefully, I will get a blog post in a week and by the end of the summer have a complete story or whatever I plan to do! Afterwards, I might write different stories but for now I will work on Merge, starting the week after the next. :)
Oh, and I also changed the font to my blog font so it's actually understandable. I will try to find a better font, but for now,
Bye!

Anyways, I named it "Around the Fire" because, generally, stories are told around a campfire, or legends, or myths, and I thought it was an interesting name!! I may have a slow start of this blog, because I am going to be doing this a lot during the summer and we still have a few weeks left of school... so.... until then!
